De Bean Represents Indonesia at The Master World Bartending Championship 2018

the bar times – I Gede Adi Jaya, popularly known as De Bean, has officially qualified to represent Indonesia at the prestigious The Master World Bartending Championship 2018. The international competition will take place in Phuket, Thailand, at the end of March.

De Bean earned his victory after clinching the top spot in the national selection event “Viking Road to The Master World Bartending Championship 2018.” The competition, organized by the Asia Bartender Association (ABA) Indonesia, was held at Rosso Vivo Dine & Lounge in Kuta, Bali.

The bartender from Gianyar, now residing in Sanur, expressed shock and pride. “I was stunned by this win. All my opponents were incredibly strong. Hard work truly never betrays the result. Thank you to everyone who supported me,” De Bean said after the announcement on Friday, February 23, 2018.

In the mixology category, De Bean outperformed 14 other top contestants. He presented a signature cocktail named Sandikala, inspired by the concept of time in Balinese Hindu beliefs.

“The Sandikala cocktail was created from sang kala, the transitional moment of time that holds deep magical significance in Balinese Hindu tradition,” he explained to the judges.

Simple Preparation, Maximum Results

De Bean revealed there was no secret formula for his success. “No special preparation. I just trained consistently, gave my all, prayed, and stayed calm. That was the key,” he shared.

Now, his focus shifts to preparing for the world stage. “Mental strength is the priority. The cocktail I bring must fully represent Bali. I’m confident Bali can stand toe-to-toe with Japan,” said the 1995-born bartender.

Ready to Battle Anyone

De Bean displayed fierce determination. He declared full readiness to face competitors from any country.

“It might sound arrogant, but I’m ready for war. Whoever they are, from whatever nation, I’ll take them on with everything I’ve got,” he concluded with unwavering confidence.

De Bean’s achievement highlights Bali’s bartending talent on the global stage. The Master World Bartending Championship 2018 will serve as Indonesia’s platform to showcase excellence in mixology and cocktail creativity. ***
